I've been seeing many and varied clowns recently. Yes, it's true. I just haven't got round to posting about them.

I thought I'd mention this website though,
where I found A clown this image of a clown.

And yes, some parts of it do offend my sensibilities, but it has a CLOWN !

2:19 pm - Not sure, but....

...it seemed to me that I spotted a new variation at the Place of Azure Waters on Saturday. I scarce caught a glimpse, but from what I saw this was no ordinary clown. Rather, it was some manner of fearful ape, swinging from one arm, orang-utan fashion. And it was bdeazzling, decked out as it was with many a shining crystal.

Be afraid.

9:06 am - I'm still spotting clowns

These days sometimes it's hard to tell which are genuine clowns though.

There is such a variety of large gold pendants around you have to look really hard to spot a clown from say a ragdoll, or a pixie or something.

A worrying silver trend has also emerged in the Midlands. We have silver clowns (no less obnoxious). I can't help feeling these are substandard, not the genuine article.

Rarely a shopping trip goes by without the chooch nudging me and muttering "CLOWN!" under his breath. I'm usually looking the wrong way, so miss them.

5:22 pm - A new model

Found this today. I know it's not traditional... but it certainly has its attractions. What do you think ? Do you still love the old skool clown or is there a place in your heart for this beauty ?

10:49 am - file under 'c' for clown...

reconnaissance from deepest kent - the enemy within:

the suspect is believed to go under the name 'hayley' or, at other times, 'alan's girlfriend'.
at approximately 9:00pm, saturday 5 april she lent across a table in the 'west gate inn', and proceeded to show off a gold charm bracelet worn on her left wrist, where a 1cm high, gold, jewelled, clown was clearly visible to the naked eye.
on further questioning the suspect revealed that initial plans to purchase a full size clown pendant had been superseded by the desire for a large gold letter 'h' worn around the throat instead.

cover was maintained, and this agent escaped without detection. updates to follow..

Saw one this morning..I was dancing at Asda's.The woman was LOADED with gold stuff around her neck..if she bent over she'd have trouble getting up again..(had a lengthy off-colour conversation with Dan about this which I shall not repeat but just think about it..) and inevitably there was a clown nestling amidst the golden shark's teeth and Egyptian holograms and crosses and..stuff.

2:30 pm - I just keep seeing them !

It's almost easier to post about days when I haven't seen a clown than the days when I have.

The west midlands is *full* of them. Full to bursting.

I had my first interaction with someone wearing one the other day. In the centre of birmingham. I advised her against using the cashpoint because the screen was all dodgy.

Her clown was enormous and gold.

Beat that, you clownswatchers !

oooooooo i finally spotted one!!!!
it wasn't exactly a clown but i'd seen it in the Argos catalogue next to the clowns...
It was a lovely huge jewelled rag doll (Argos £89.99) spotted Saturday at about 20h30m on a train from Southend to Liverpool St Station. The Subject was wearing a tight leopard print skimpy top that matched the pendant to perfection

London Bridge Station: platform 6. Thursday January 28th.

1.5 cms, diamante, around the neck of a very nasty looking woman. If she'd been coming down the street I'd have definitely let her have the pavement. *eek*. As it was I let her off the train first..

11:23 pm - A sighting

I needn't have worried.

Sunday 26 January 2003. 4.12pm Touchwood Shopping Centre, Solihull.

A girl (19ish) 5 feet 6 tall, around a size 14 in sports clothes.

Bearing a *scrunchie* for full scrapeback of her brown hair.

Clown was on a gold belcher chain, but a very poor specimen. I would estimate it was around the 2cm size with a few jewels. Very poor. Very disappointing after the veritable housebrick of a clown in McGoverns the other night.

Still, it was nice to see one.

current mood: happy

11:59 am - It's a bit of a worry

What if I am restricting myself in clown spotting by moving to the Midlands? I have never seen as many clowns up here than I have in London.

You're all going to get many more sightings than me and I'm going to end up a sad loser. Oh wait...

current mood: anxious

8:40 pm - Bromley Sighting

The subject was observed in the T-Mobile 'phone shop at 2.58 on Saturday afternoon waiting for her mother who was making an irate customer services call. She was an adolescent female and therefore difficult to view.

The subject was wearing an articulated gold clown about three cms long on a gold belcher chain. The clown was not jewelled but had evidence of some tooling on the surface.

Other observations:
There were other objects on a separate chain which the operative was not able to get close enough to view, as the subject seemed likely to react badly to closer observation.
She was wearing a pink one-shouldered number and her bra strap was clearly observable and uncomfortable. Fake diamante chanel earrings were in evidence, but sadly no graduated gold hoops. Hair was just beyond shoulder length, brown and tied back.

3:11 pm - Inaugural post

To mention that the most important resource for the community can be found here.

I suggest we start the ball rolling by talking about how we first became aware of clowns, and clowns we have seen.
